Louis Abalos - Career Planner with the United States Marine Corps
An enlisted Marine with over a decade of human resource management experience, Louis Abalos has served the United States Marine Corps as a canvassing recruiter, career retention specialist, and station commander. He worked as a canvassing recruiter at Recruiting Station Seattle from 2012 to 2015, during which time he consistently exceeded local and regional enlistment expectations via community presentations and other efforts. Louis Abalos was named Recruiter of the Year in 2013.
From there, Mr. Abalos spent two years as a career retention specialist at Camp Foster in Okinawa, Japan. In addition to operating a strategic human resources program, he provided coaching and mentorship to department supervisors and executive-level management on career development and employee relations. He served three years as station commander at Marine Corps Recruiting Substation Puyallup, Washington.
Louis Abalos has worked in a career retention capacity at Naval Base Kitsap in Bangor, Washington, since 2020. Commendations include seven Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals and the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal. He also earned a Bachelor of Science in human resource management from the University of Maryland in 2020.
